Box description: An an architect, Charles Francis Annesley Voysey specialized in country cottages.  As a designer of wallpaper and fabric, he made patterns using flowers, leaves, birds, and fruit.  In this design, The House that Jack Built, Voysey relied on a Mother Goose thyme that repeats the sentence "This is the house that Jack built," adding one more line about the house with each repetition.  Among the items in the list are "the maiden all forlorn," "the cow with the crumpled horn," a dog, a cat, and a rat.
