Anne Searle attended The Central School of Art in London in the late 1950's, returning afterwards to her home town of Chesterfield to teach at the School of Art. She then moved to Surrey where she began to paint professionally. Anne never loses her excitement about trying to capture un paint the infinite variety of growing things. She works primarily in oils and watercolour, and finds variety and vibrancu of the natural world a constant joy. Always drawing from life, Anne is inspired by her cottage garden: vegetables, herbs and even weeds found amongst her flowers are included in her work and treated with the same degress of fine observation that has made her paintings highly sought after. Anne now lives in Stafforshire, and her work has been reproduced across the world as limited edition and fine art prints, veramics, greeting cards and jigsaws.
