This jigsaw puzzle features details from three differect mosaics at the Getty Villa in Malibu, California. The centerpiece is a section of a magnificennt inlaid mosaic reproduction of a first-centurt BC pavement from the Villa dei Papiri at Herculaneum. The animals and portraits of the four seasons in the corners are from a Gallo-Roman stone-and-glass floor mosaic (AD150-200), and the vertical bars down the sides are taken from a mesmerizing Roman floor mosaid (AD115-150) with concentric bands of black and white triangles that creat an optical illusion.
